It is your life that eventually kills you But it’s not living that makes you dead It is your mind that eventually leaves you But it’s not thinking that makes you lose your head Don’t waste your mind, don’t waste your time On things you can’t control Don’t waste your mind, don’t waste your time You can’t escape your soul You know you’ll never be at peace If you don’t know that you’re at war You know you’ll never find the missing piece If you’ve never seen the picture before If you can see, the way to your redemption Then why would you ever seek exemption? Because it is your duty to be true to others not just yourself The only path to freedom is the one you pave yourself Don’t waste your mind, don’t waste your time On things you can’t control Don’t waste your mind, don’t waste your time You can’t escape your soul

US 03:00
Well I am running out of time it seems Cause no one seems to understand my dreams And everywhere I look I see People destroying everything Without knowing What’s next, or who should I say, Well you never can tell these days, cuz It’s been a long time since I’ve seen People living happily It’ll be such a long time before we can be A Unified Society, you know nothing comes of nothing It’s been weighing on my mind Cause every time I turn and see the hypocrisy And the greed I need to get away from this war Cause peace is just behind the door of patience, patience It’s been so long (it’s been too long) Since I have seen (since I have seen) It’ll be so long (it’ll be too long) Before we can be… It’s been a long time since I’ve seen People living happily It’ll be such a long time before we can be A Unified Society, you know nothing comes of nothing

On My Own 03:30
I’ve been in this state of mind For far too long And now I’ve realized This is where I belong No shackles on my brain I’m free to roam If you can’t feel the same I guess I’m on my own I’m on my own but I’m Not alone, no no no I’m on my own but I’m Not alone, no no no You know you’ve got to Stand up for your right And oh you’ve got to Fight for your mind Lead those in darkness Into the light So once lost souls can Finally unite I’m on my own but I’m Not alone, no no no I’m on my own but I’m Not alone, no no no

Stumblin' By 03:17
Well there’ll be people Who will make it their goal To make a fool of you And then there’s people You can trust with your soul They will help see you through The things on which we rely They just go stumblin’ by And we forget to give praise For sunshine at noontime And moonlight at midnight For all the rest of our days Never forget where you came from (Always remember who you are) Never let the fear contain you (Love will always set you free) Never say never once you do it’s too late It’s always easier to ask for what Your own hands can create Some days come and some days go Oh no Some days fast and some they pass so slow Time can be your enemy or your friend It depends on how you spend your time The days we wish would pass by They just go stumblin’ by And we forget to give thanks For sunshine at noontime And moonlight at midnight For all the rest of our days

The Quest 03:27
Into darkness, enters light Isn’t that the story of the sun? In all her glory, she would rise To celebrate a new day begun A quest for knowledge Can go either way One might find wisdom Or be led astray Led astray Slowly, slowly as the stars align Dreams crystallize And the only trace left of time Is the memory of another life Another life A fountain awaits those who thirst Knowing the fate of every wish Like a hidden love on the verge Of coming to life with a single kiss A quest for peace Can be give and take One must know when to stand strong And when to kneel down and pray And pray Slowly, slowly as the stars align Dreams crystallize And the only trace left of time Is the memory of another life Another life

We Are One 03:05
We are one, we are one, we are one We are one, we are one, we are one You and I we come from the same dust, we are one Six billion grains of sand make one shore It’s funny to see that in the end, we go back to the ground From where we came, from where we came, we began Six billion grains of sand We are one When you live in harmony Nothing can come between You and your neighbour Or even your worst enemy We are one Follow the music, follow the music The groove won’t ask you why When we arrive on that afternoon We’ll wish the ride didn’t have to end so soon I hope the high doesn’t have to end so soon We are one

This chemistry Is killin’ me The way you move the way you speak Makes me weak I know I’ve felt like this before But I can’t remember when It almost feels like I can Already see the end When I was younger I believed in love And now we don’t seem to agree When I was younger I believed in love And now we can’t seem to agree It goes up it goes down it goes all around And I can’t keep up with the ride It goes up it goes down it goes all around But when it stops Everybody’s gotta take a side, so When you love somebody You’ve gotta set them free And if you love someone you Sometimes have to set them free Well I’ve been blinded I can’t see It’s so easy to get lost in you You make me feel complete The hardest thing is remembering The place within myself Where happiness, I know exists And everything ends well When I was younger I believed in love And now we don’t seem to agree When I was younger I believed in love And now we can’t seem to agree It goes up it goes down it goes all around And I can’t keep up with the ride It goes up it goes down it goes all around But when it stops Everybody’s gotta take a side, so When you love somebody You’ve gotta set them free And if you love someone you Sometimes have to set them free

Clouds 03:38
Woke up this morning, what did I see? A little grey cloud outside my window Just wanted to go back to sleep Cause maybe that would make the rain go When I woke up from my dream Saw the raindrops on my window, oh no Nothing’s changed, it’s all the same Wondering when the rain will go away I need a little sunshine Wondering when the pain will go away Cause then I’ll be fine The next day I stared up at the sky 'Till my face was blue Trying to find a way out of this Cause I don’t know what to do Every time I think I’ve found my solution Things don’t go my way I hope for sunshine but it’s pouring confusion Wondering when the rain will go away I need a little sunshine Wondering when the pain will go away Cause then I’ll be fine

On The Stars 03:58
You could say that we’re lost Don’t know where we began Don’t know when this journey’s gonna end But to be lost is to be free It’s where you are not where you’ll be It’s where you are not where you’ll be It doesn’t matter where you’re going It’s who you are not what you’re showing So don’t fret, don’t worry your pretty little head Cause we’ll just count on the stars and our luck tonight We’ll just count on the stars and our love tonight We’ll just count on the stars… Sometimes, you just gotta look down At the ground beneath your feet Take a moment, open your eyes Or the world will pass you by You could say it’s been long Oh, how much time has passed Don’t know how long this journey’s gonna last But if you keep watching the time Instead of keeping an eye On what’s in front of you You’ll soon fall behind So don’t fret, don’t worry your pretty little head Cause we’ll just count on the stars and our luck tonight We’ll just count on the stars and our love tonight We’ll just count on the stars… We’ll just count on the stars…

Chris Assaad and Andrew Hanna were born connected by family bonds and were always together. They played and travelled and grew like brothers. It was twenty-two years later that these Toronto, Canada-born cousins discovered their musical connection and creative chemistry. In 2002 a simple, earnest musical duo called I.An.Eye emerged onto the eclectic Toronto music scene.

The early days were a frenzy of song-writing and exploration of music from the likes of Ben Harper, The Chili Peppers, Jack Johnson and, the Legend himself, Bob Marley. The boys started playing acoustic sets around their hometown and realized they were on to something. They traveled a long way from their humble beginnings as an acoustic duo welcoming to the family classically trained cellist Riaz Hassan, Dave McMillan’s funk-rock fusion on bass, and the dead-on, laid-back beats of Kevin Mendes on drums.

I.An.Eye, the Rastafarian concept of God and self being indistinguishable, provides both a name and an ideology for the band, with their reflective lyrics and spiritual performances. The music is a mix of inspiring, soulful folk-rock, reggae, funk and blues with infectious hooks and dynamic emotions. This all crystallizes on stage where the music is free to transform and elevate. They captured a piece of that magic on their 2004 EP The Smoke Clears and followed it up a year later with their first LP We Are One.
